How long does it take to show signs of shingles after having chickenpox?
Most people who have had chickenpox never develop
shingles; however, anyone who has ever had
chickenpox or been vaccinated against chickenpox
can develop shingles, including children. Shingles
most commonly occurs in people age 50 years and
older and the incidence of the disease keeps increasing
with increasing age.
Is there a test for shingles?
Yes. The test consists of a laboratory examination of
cells taken from a skin lesion.
